Beyond the Grave - Preserving & Passing on our Family History Research
Imagine the horror: You’ve spent years meticulously researching your family history or that local history project, only to have it discarded by a relative who sees it as too overwhelming to handle after you're gone.
This isn’t just a nightmare—it’s a reality that many face.
Inspired by a real-life case where a vast family history was nearly lost, Clare delves into this often-avoided but critical topic.
In this presentation, we’ll journey through the challenges that arise when our research outlives us, exploring the emotional and practical hurdles that our loved ones may face.
We'll discuss proactive strategies to ensure the countless hours, sweat, challenges, and money you've invested in this passion are preserved—from digitisation to creating accessible narratives that resonate with the next generation.
You'll also gain valuable insights into how to engage family members, making sure the torch of family history is passed on.
Talk lasts about 45 Minutes with additional time for questions.
