Genealogy Testimonials

I spent many years trying to find a lost section of my family tree.   I had no information at all after the 1871 census.  After I realised I was getting absolutely nowhere in my research, I contacted Clare and asked for help.  I gave her the little information I had and was astonished with the results of her research when she got back to me. Since then, she has done other research for me and each time she has totally surprised me at the depth of her research.

She is very professional and knowledgeable and she has so many ways of obtaining information which would be beyond the scope of an amateur like me. I like the way she recommends any further research which could be done but I also like the way she lets you know when no further research is needed.

I can highly recommend Clare for genealogical research but I personally think she is so clever at finding lost sections of a family tree when she is only given minimal information.

It was a real pleasure working with Clare Wilson in researching my Cameron family tree.  Her research was thorough and uncovered a number of fascinating tidbits about my ancestors, even from her home base in Scotland.  She was always responsive to my queries and quick to reply.

Clare, thank you for the very extensive information about the crew of the Halifax MZ871 (102 Squadron) and a brilliant piece of research about the crew members.

Having started – and failed to finish - compiling my family tree many years ago I am delighted that Clare at Treehouse Genealogy has exceeded my expectations. I now have a professional looking chart and a wealth of background information and documentation on my family dating back over 200 years! I am sure I would never have found all this on my own and would have struggled to present it so well.
Clare is professional, keeping me up to speed with progress and options and willingly answering so many questions.

I look forward to reminiscing and discussing this heritage with the family and providing my children with history that they can continue to populate.

Thank you Clare for a brilliant piece of research!

Looking for information about a Bomber Crew who were shot down over Berlin in 1941, the Secretary of the Association of 102 Bomber Squadron, put me in touch with Clare Wilson.  I could not have asked for a better result as after Clare got into the matter, I received a wealth of information about the three Scottish crew members & I now know more about them & their families. What is particularly important to me are the approaches to further possible directions of investigation. I think it is these small, very important steps that are necessary to develop people's understanding of one another and to further promote the reconciliation of our peoples.

Personally, I am very happy to have such an excellent specialist among my friends.

Thank you Clare!

I started doing research on my family tree & although it was quite simple to start with very quickly I began going down roads that were full of obstacles & with no elderly members of my family alive to talk to I was getting really stuck.

My wife had bought me some time from Treehouse Genealogy and when I got in-touch with Clare speaking to her on the phone it was clear to me that I knew she could help me.  After a couple of days she emailed me with a couple of generations that I could not find.

I was very impressed and excited that she had done it that quickly

Clare has help me further with my family history and I’m sure I will ask again for Clare's help.

I would highly recommend Clare from Treehouse Genealogy!

For many years now Clare has provided invaluable genealogy research material of a professional high standard, in support of our remembrance work in relation to the loss of fallen airmen.   This in turn has helped us to bring assistance and closure for many families.

Treehouse Genealogy has been an important addition to the collective work of our international team, and we look forward to our future work in this partnership, unravelling mysteries and recording previously untold details from the past together.

Clare has been extremely helpful in researching my paternal family and has found some very interesting information that connects to the family. At the end there was a well presented report, along with Clare's findings.

I can appreciate the work which has gone into compiling the data on The New Monkland, Churchyard Monument CD, where I was happy to discover family member's images. I am very pleased with the results.

Despite being involved in Family research for almost 20 years I had hit a brick wall when it came to my Great Uncle who had died serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force in WW2.

Clare came to the rescue using her wealth of knowledge concerning the RAF, her professional networks linked to Canada and her vast experience in Genealogy.   And what a result, I couldn’t have imaged so much information existed.

Thank you on behalf of my wider family for bringing to life a man we never knew, but who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all.

I can’t recommend the services of Treehouse Genealogy highly enough, a first class service.

Mark Purdon, Belfast, Northern Ireland

I engaged Ms Clare Wilson for genealogical services in relation to an ancestry search I was conducting to trace some of my ancestors who may have moved to Scotland.  Based on limited available information Clare conducted a thorough document research and produced a detailed report outlining linkages and followed this research through over a number of generations.

I was very satisfied with the quality of the work done and would have no hesitation in recommending Clare for similar genealogical research.

I am now back another two generations in my search for my Robertson family.  Having struck a snag in the mid 1700s tracing this family I decided that a professional researcher was required to resolve this issue.  A search for a genealogist in the vicinity of Glasgow and Edinburgh found Clare at Treehouse Genealogy. Within three days my issue was resolved and now have the further two generations. I might add that tracing a family around this period is quite difficult in Scotland as the records give little to identify families let alone individuals and home locations.

Clare provided the copies of the individual entries plus gravestone inscriptions concerned which gave sufficient evidence to certify these two generations.  On completion of the initial task Clare continued correspondence encouraging further possibilities in tracing this line with advice to other avenues of research.  I allowed her additional time to pursue this family but was advised of the difficulties and cost involved without being pressured. Her correspondence was a pleasure and prompt with no doubt that she was interested in my research.

Clare is the 102 (Ceylon) Squadron Association Archivist and carries out research for this World War 2 Association in her own time, beyond her professional work for client's researching their family history, to the benefit of our members and overseas researchers.

She completed a detailed and in depth project into those members of Bomber Command buried in the Churchyard of St. Catherine's Church, Barmby Moor, Yorkshire. Something very much appreciated by the families and an important document for local history.
Her many hours of research, which produces professional work, which is of the highest standard, and the empathy she shows in the presentation of it to her clients is frequently commented on.

Harry Bartlett, Hon. Secretary, 102 (Ceylon) Squadron Association

Clare, made the impossible possible. In my years of searching for family members of perished air crew members.  She is the one who finds it, with great care so that I can tell the story behind these heroes..so that they will never be forgotten.

Jan Jolie, The Netherlands

Clare has just finished tracing my family in Scotland/Ireland from the mid 1800s. Not easy given the lack of records at that time. She was very professional and efficient supplying her findings in a well presented report after 1 week.
Peter Mehaffey ( McHaffie), West Lakes, South Australia.

We knew little to nothing about our grandfathers heritage and thanks to Clare and her research we can put together more of the puzzle. Thanks Clare for great results!

Becky Mitchell, Maine, U.S.A.

Clare produced a Eulogy following the recent passing of my Husband.  She came to the house and we ran through his life, she turned what was a sad situation into one of pleasant memories.   Following the Funeral lots of people commented on some of my Husbands life experiences...even a close family member!

If I had written the Eulogy myself I wouldn't have captured as much, but going over it with Clare I realise that she brought all the memories back which in turn summed up my Husbands life in the most wonderful way.

I have since had Clare write up mine before I die as my children might not remember everything and I feel this will lessen the burden.

Clare at Treehouse Genealogy did such an incredible job researching our family's ancestry.  We have been working on our own genealogy for over a decade and had hit a brick wall with our Scottish roots.  When I contacted Clare, she was quick to respond and easy to work with.

She went above and beyond with the research conducted.  She  even visited our old family farm and took pictures for us, giving us a detailed description of the farm and how to visit  it ourselves.  She was thorough, fair with her prices, and efficient.  I highly recommend her to anyone searching for their own family history.  She does not disappoint!

Lori Esser, California, U.S.A.

Clare really couldn't do more to help me with information about my great grandfather and great great grandfather, I would recommend her to anyone who's looking into family history.

I contacted Treehouse Genealogy to see if I could learn more about my Scottish ancestry prior to a
planned trip to Scotland and was thoroughly impressed with the responsiveness and the results.

Clare was prompt, professional, and clear in all of her communications with me, replying quickly and
completely to my questions. The final report she provided was so informative and has opened a
window to the past that’s full of fascinating details and discoveries.

It has been a pleasure to work with Clare and I would recommend the services of Treehouse
Genealogy to anyone who is curious to learn more of their own family history.
