With a background of only technical writing, I took this course to understand how to write genealogy stories that my extended family members may actually enjoy. The course definitely met the expectations by focusing on my exact interest and it provided me with many tools and ideas to write more engaging genealogy stories. Thank you Clare!
I really enjoyed this class! There is so much to think about when researching and writing family history; it can feel overwhelming and never get done. But this class helped me explore different approaches to try, and how to look at more basic data (birth/death dates, census records) and find ways to research around it to bring that information to life by creating a sensory world that the reader wants to step into and learn about.
This course helped me get out of my "comfort zone" and explored a variety of ways to write creatively about my ancestors. Definitely appreciate all that I learned. Weekly handouts and access to view the weekly recordings were helpful to reinforce new information.
Clare created a safe and supportive space providing key ideas on how to creatively write about our family histories, and where we could practice short, fun exercises and share our work with increasing confidence
Great course! It really helped me with ideas to make my family history writing more interesting and gave me ideas for new projects.
